It defines various terms and outlines provisions related to wages, superannuation, and employment conditions for covered employees.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"title-idx-1\" class=\"icon-anchor\">Who is covered by the Commercial Sales Award ?<\/h2>\n<h3>Coverage<\/h3>\n<p>The Commercial Sales Award is applicable to individuals working as Commercial Travellers, Merchandisers, and Advertising Sales Representatives, as well as their respective employers. These roles involve working outside of the employer&#8217;s business office or location, often on the road or in various locations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Commercial Traveller is someone who:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">sells or solicits orders for articles, goods, wares, merchandise or material that is sold wholesale or resale, or will be used by the customer for producing, preparing or distributing what they will sell.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Commercial Travellers must be selling goods for wholesale sale (ie. not for retail).<\/p>\n<p><strong>An Advertising Sales Representative is someone who:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">solicits orders, obtains sales leads or appointments, or promotes sales in other ways for\u00a0 advertising space or time of any kind.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A Merchandiser is someone who:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">promotes the employer\u2019s products,<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">re-orders stock<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">prepares display units and gondola ends.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They may also solicit orders for these products but only as a minor part of their work.<\/p>\n<p>The Commercial Sales Award extends its coverage to labour hire businesses and their employees who work as Commercial Travellers, Advertising Sales Representatives, and Merchandisers.\u00a0This applies when these employees are placed with an employer who is not covered by an award that specifically classifies these roles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Commercial Sales Award doesn&#8217;t cover:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Commercial Travellers, Merchandisers, and Advertising Sales Representatives who are employed by a business covered by a different modern award that specifically includes a classification for these roles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following awards are examples of those not covered by the Commercial Sales Award:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Clerks Award<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Contract Call Centres Award<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Graphic Arts Award<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Retail Award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Source: <span work<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">The ordinary hours of work for a full-time employee are an average of 38 per week with a maximum of 152 hours over 28 consecutive days.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">The ordinary hours of work may be worked on any days of the week.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0The ordinary hours of work will not exceed 10 hours on any day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Breaks<\/h3>\n<p>An employer will allow an employee reasonable time to have regular and normal meals on each day of the employee\u2019s employment.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"title-idx-3\" the Commercial Sales Award ?<\/h2>\n<p>In the Commercial Sales Award , leave entitlements for employees are determined by the National Employment Standards (<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fwc.gov.au\/documents\/awards\/resources\/nes.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NES<\/a><\/span>) and the classification of the employee.<\/p>\n<h3>Annual leave<\/h3>\n<p>Annual leave is provided for in the <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\"
